A delegation of the Azerbaijan Pakistan Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry (APJCCI), led by its Chairman Mr. Zafar Bakhtawari, called on H.E. Khazar Farhadov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, to discuss ongoing efforts and new initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral economic, trade, and investment relations between the two brotherly nations.
Mr. Zafar Bakhtawari noted that this year marks the sixth visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Azerbaijan, which reflects the growing strength of Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations and the vision of both leaderships to further consolidate their partnership. He praised Ambassador Farhadov for his remarkable contributions toward strengthening ties between the two countries and remarked that due to outstanding services, Ambassador Khazar Farhadov deserves to be recommended for Pakistan’s highest civil award.
H.E. Khazar Farhadov, in response, thanked Mr. Bakhtawari and the APJCCI for the kind words of appreciation. He informed that the Hon’ble Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan had also acknowledged and admired his role during his recent visit to Baku. The Ambassador highlighted that the frequency of flights between the two countries has been substantially increased with six weekly flights from Lahore and three from Islamabad to Baku, which are expected to expand to daily flights in the near future. He also mentioned that on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day, several important buildings in Pakistan were illuminated as a gesture of solidarity and friendship between the two nations. H.E. Farhadov expressed confidence that with the passage of time, trade and business linkages between the two countries would continue to expand, and emphasized that APJCCI can play a vital role in this regard.
During the meeting, Mr. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, Patron-in-Chief of APJCCI, presented the report of the Chamber’s delegation visit to Baku held in September this year. He informed that the delegation had productive meetings with government institutions, business organizations, and private companies in Azerbaijan, which helped identify new avenues of mutual cooperation. He also announced the launch of APJCCI’s official website (www.apjcci.com), which provides detailed information about the Chamber’s activities, recent visits, and trade and investment opportunities between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Mr. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari further shared that APJCCI, in collaboration with the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IWCCI), is organizing the 7th Islamabad Expo 2025 on December 6–7, 2025, at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad, and extended an invitation to the Ambassador to grace the event as Chief Guest. He informed that around ten Azerbaijani companies are expected to participate in this mega event, which will serve as a significant platform for promoting business-to-business (B2B) interactions and showcasing trade opportunities.
He also disclosed that APJCCI plans to organize an Azerbaijan–Pakistan Business Forum next year, which will bring together prominent businessmen, investors, and officials from both countries. The Forum will focus on exploring joint ventures, strengthening business linkages, and creating new pathways for trade and investment in diverse sectors. Ms. Naima Ansari, former President IWCCI also extended invitation to the Ambassador for gracing the Expo as a Chief Guest, which he graciously accepted.
