Pakistan–Azerbaijan Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA)

The Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between the Pakistan and the Azerbaijan aims to promote bilateral trade by providing tariff concessions on selected products of mutual interest. The agreement is intended to strengthen economic cooperation, enhance market access for exporters, and encourage greater trade and investment between the two countries. Under this arrangement, both sides have extended preferential tariff reductions on a number of goods to facilitate increased commercial exchanges and deepen economic relations.

Note: Rice is not included among the products granted tariff concessions under the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan. However, pursuant to a Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 22 November 2022, a temporary exemption from the 15% import customs duty has been granted for rice imported from Pakistan. This measure has been adopted as a unilateral trade facilitation initiative by the Government of Azerbaijan and remains valid until 31 December 2027. Accordingly, this exemption should not be construed as forming part of the tariff concessions under the Pakistan–Azerbaijan PTA.
